It was another movement for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as the team moved 4 places up in the latest FIFA ranking; they now occupy the 60th position in the latest rankings.
According to the rankings released on Thursday on FIFA’s official website, the Eagles moved up from 64th to 60th in the world and 11th in Africa.
The victory against Tanzania and Zambia is the major reason for the improvement in the rankings.
Super Eagles next opponent in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, Algeria, maintained their 35th position and are third in Africa while Cameroon and Zambia are 59th and 94th respectively.
Cote d’Ivoire are Africa’s highest ranked team as they moved up three places to 31st and number one on the continent and are closely followed by Senegal who are 32nd and second in Africa.
Meanwhile, Argentina maintained their number one position while world champions, Germany, moved up one to second.
In third spot is Brazil who moved one step up, Belgium are fourth and Colombia fifth.
