Fulham forward Sone Aluko won the player of the month prize after impressing in October.
The 28-year-old missed a penalty in the October 1 defeat at home to QPR but recovered to score against Barnsley two weeks later before destroying Huddersfield with three assists in the Whites’ stunning 5-0 win at the end of the month.
Aluko said: “Personally it’s a great feeling to be recognised with this award. It’s a nice feeling to be publicly rewarded for your efforts.’’
“Ultimately I think it’s a team award. I wouldn’t get this award if the team weren’t winning and it’s a credit to my teammates and all the staff who have provided me with a platform to play well on.’’
“The results have gone our way recently and because of this I’ve been able to show my best form.”
This is the second time Aluko has been recognized as the best player in the English second-tier, having won the accolade back in November 2012 while on the payroll of Hull City.
