Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has started preparation for the friendly match against Egypt in Dubai on January 9 2017.
He has decided to invite Austria Wien’s Kayode Olanrewaju and Wolfsburg’s Victor Osimhen for the match, citing that he wants to give opportunities to the youngsters to prove themselves as the country prepares for the double header against Cameroon.
The Super Eagles manager said the former youth internationals will be given a chance to prove themselves against the north Africans as he scouts for fresh and quality players for the team.
Rohr said, “We know him [Kayode Olarewaju] and we have invited him to the game in January.”
“Becuase normally Austria don’t play due to the winter. It will be an opportunity to see him.”
“We have a lot of good strikers like [Victor] Oshimen in Wolfsburg. He will be ready to play in January for the country.”
He concluded saying, “We want to try and invite other players for other positions. We will monitor the players who are already with us in their clubs in Europe to see they are doing very well.”
