The general manager of Enugu Rangers, Ozor Paul Chibuzor has said the aim of the club is to retain the league title in the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
He said, “Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi must take the credit for ending many years without a trophy for Rangers. Rangers are getting it right now because of the good Governor we have. “
“And the only way to can repay him is to win the league back-to-back.”
“If we did what we did last season by being on top at the right time, there is nothing stopping us from being champions again with our great Governor and great people of Enugu State behind us.”
Chibuzor also spoke about the club’s plan to be worthy representative for the country on the continent next season as they will participate in the 2016/ 17 CAF Champions League.
He said, “It’s a big task ahead of us and that is why we have been up and doing. We have to be well prepared.”
“The true champions of Nigeria will feature in the Champions League. You will see us flying high in this competition.”
“We will retain the majority of the squad from last season with a couple of adjustments. We will not be starting from the scratch. You could see, for instance, that we still need some finishers upfront.”
He also disclosed the club have set up a marketing department to shop for corporate sponsors for the Football Club.
