Super Falcons coach, Florence Omagbemi has refrained from commenting on stories making the rounds that the Nigerian female nationalplayers threatened to down tools if the Nigeria Football Federation failed to pay their their outstanding allowances and bonuses before their last group match against Kenya in the ongoing Africa Women’s Ccup of Nations in Cameroon.
Omagbemi who take tactically avoided the question after the Falcons 4-0 win against Kenya on Saturday, insisted that the team is focused to win the Cup of Nations .
“I don’t want to comment on such stories, its just a distraction to the group. We are focused on the task at hand which is retaining the trophy we won the last time out.”
The NFF are notorious for always owing national team players and officials. Only recently, the female under 20 team to the World Championships, Falconets complained that they were owed bonuses and allowances despite promises before the start of the competition in Papua New Guinea
